Bios
Abteen Vaziri is the Managing Partner of the Vaziri Law Firm and the President and CIO of Uptown Companies Inc. Vaziri has experience in all aspects of the EB-5 regional center program having managed regional centers for three separate companies and having managed over ten regional centers encompassing the geographies of 17 states. Vaziri has extensive experience raising EB-5 funds and has been responsible for over $250 million of EB-5 funds raised, having built a global network of agents and partners all around the globe. Vaziri has experience with all aspects of the management, operations and compliance of the EB-5 program with extensive experience with regulatory filings with both the SEC and the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services under DHS. Vaziri also has extensive experience being a general counsel for his EB-5 fund and managing immigration attorneys, securities attorneys, as well as real estate attorneys throughout the EB-5 investment and repayment cycle.
Prior to starting his own firm Vaziri was a Managing Director at Brevet Capital Management in New York City where he managed the Mezzanine debt origination platform, the EB-5 practice, and their real estate practice. Vaziri managed the loan originations of several hotel projects and one very large condo project. Vaziri also oversaw the originations of several projects and payback of 6 real estate projects totaling over $500 million. Vaziri also oversaw the approval of 5 EB-5 projects with the USCIS as well as the approval of several investors, without ever having a project or an investor not be approved.
Vaziri is admitted to practice law in the states of New York. Vaziri graduated with an MBA in Finance from Southern Methodist University’s Cox School of Business in 2004 and Juris Doctor degree with a concentration in Business and Financial Law from Fordham University in 2018.
Mitch Wexler is Senior Counsel at Fragomen, overseeing the firm’s West Coast EB-5 practice.
Wexler has over 40 years of immigration law experience, and his practice has been quite diverse in that it has been comprised of individual high net worth foreign nationals including E-2 and EB-5 work, start-up, mid-size, and large multinational companies regarding all of their work visa/immigration matters. He is now focusing on Fragomen’s EB-5 practice.
Wexler is well-versed in the immigration field, with extensive knowledge of all aspects of U.S. immigration. He has specialized knowledge of the EB-5 arena and has been working with EB-5 clients for many years. He and his team have successfully handled many hundreds of EB-5 cases from all over the world.
He is a California State Bar certified specialist in immigration and nationality law and is a previous member of Fragomen’s national Executive Committee for 12 years. Wexler also teaches a regular module on business and investment (including EB-5) immigration law at the University of California Irvine Law School.
